JACKODUR® LIGNIN 300 Standard

Thermal insulation made with bio-based lignin and recycled polystyrene

Insulation reimagined – using renewable and recycled raw materials.

JACKODUR® LIGNIN 300 Standard combines bio-based lignin with recycled polystyrene (rGPPS), setting new standards for sustainable, load-bearing thermal insulation in building construction.

This new generation of thermal insulation combines high technical performance with a more resource-efficient raw material base. The rigid polymer foam is made from bio-based lignin – a plant-based by-product of wood processing – and recycled polystyrene (rGPPS). Thanks to bio-based and recycled raw materials as well as electricity from renewable energy sources, JACKODUR® LIGNIN has a significantly reduced CO₂ footprint compared to conventional JACKODUR®. The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804+A2 transparently documents the environmental performance values for planning, tendering and building life cycle assessments. When collected separately by material type, the insulation is also recyclable, supporting a circular approach to construction.

In building construction, JACKODUR® LIGNIN 300 Standard is suitable for many key applications: beneath screed, as core insulation in cavity walls, as on-rafter insulation, and as internal and external wall insulation behind cladding. In all these applications, the insulation impresses with its compressive strength, excellent thermal performance and consistently reliable material behaviour.

Product features of JACKODUR® LIGNIN 300 Standard:

  • Nominal value λD = 0.032 W/(m·K) across all thicknesses
  • High compressive strength 300 kPa
  • Insulation thicknesses from 50 mm to 200 mm
  • Shiplap edge and smooth, extrusion-densified surface
  • Dimensionally stable, moisture-resistant, long-lasting
  • Free from HBCD flame retardants and does not contain CFCs, HCFCs or HFCs as blowing agents

Benefits of JACKODUR® LIGNIN 300 Standard:

  • Use of bio-based lignin and recycled polystyrene (rGPPS) instead of fossil primary raw materials
  • Fully recyclable when collected separately by material type
  • Environmental performance values specified in the EPD in accordance with ISO 14025 and EN 15804+A2

Ideal application:

  • Thermal insulation beneath screed
  • Perimeter and core insulation
  • External wall insulation behind cladding (e.g. timber cladding)
  • Internal insulation
  • On-rafter insulation
