With a lot of energy and good mood, equipped with rubbish grabs, gloves and rubbish bags, the three teams set to work. They scoured grass verges, embankments and even a lake in Mechau to rid the environment of carelessly discarded rubbish. The results were impressive: In just a few hours, well over 120 kilograms of rubbish were collected, which can now be disposed of properly. A strong sign and an important contribution to more sustainability and environmental protection!
Since its launch in 2018, World Cleanup Day has become, by its own account, the largest citizens' movement in the world for the elimination of environmental pollution. In 2022, almost 15 million people in over 190 countries worldwide took part, and this year the number is likely to have been significantly higher.
For the employees of JACKON by BEWI, one thing is certain: they will be happy to lend a hand again on the next World Cleanup Day on 21 September 2024!
