JACKOBOARD® LIGNIN: The CO2-Optimized Construction Board for Modern Bathroom Design Launches

07.02.2025 - JACKON Insulation by BEWI proudly announces the launch of a groundbreaking innovation: JACKOBOARD® LIGNIN is the latest generation of construction boards for CO2-friendly bathroom design. The core consists exclusively of bio-based and recycled raw materials, and the core material is manufactured in a CO2-neutral process using 100 percent renewable energy. To start with, construction boards in various thicknesses will be available from 2025, and the range will be gradually expanded in the coming months.

The future of construction lies in materials with reduced CO2 emissions for energy-efficient, resource-saving construction and modernization. With JACKOBOARD® LIGNIN, JACKON Insulation by BEWI is meeting the market demand for sustainable building products. Thanks to the innovative combination of bio-based lignin and recycled material in the core of the construction board, the new product generation meets the highest standards of ecological efficiency – while also offering the same outstanding standards of material quality, durability, thermal insulation and easy processing as the proven and popular JACKOBOARD® construction boards.

A Core Made of Natural Lignin and Recycled Materials

The core of the construction board contains the biopolymer LIGNIN as an essential component of the new, innovative solution. It is an organic polymer that plays an important role in the supporting tissue in the cell walls of plants. It is a by-product of the paper industry, generated in nearly unlimited quantities, and offers enormous potential as a renewable raw material. JACKON Insulation by BEWI is the first manufacturer to offer construction boards made from a renewable raw material.

Excellent Properties and Easy Handling

JACKOBOARD® LIGNIN construction boards are extremely durable, water-repellent, easy to work with and can be tiled, filled or plastered directly. High compressive strength, low weight and excellent thermal insulation properties from λ = 0.035 W/(m∙K) make this innovative and sustainable solution the perfect choice for numerous construction projects.

Market launch in 2025 – range to be continuously expanded

As of 2025, JACKOBOARD® LIGNIN construction boards will be available in the format 2600 x 600 mm in various thicknesses. The sustainable product range will be continuously expanded and rounded off in the coming months, with regular updates provided by JACKON Insulation by BEWI.

A Meaningful Contribution to Sustainable Construction

The launch of JACKOBOARD® LIGNIN aligns with global efforts to reduce CO2 emissions, minimize the use of fossil resources, and support the construction industry’s transition to more sustainable practices.
