A flagship project for sustainable construction

24.05.2023 - ONE by CA Immo, Frankfurt: JACKODUR® XPS insulation installed over a large area in high-rise project with multiple accreditations. With 49 floors including the ground floor and a height of 190 meters (620 feet), ONE by CA Immo is a flagship project in the full sense of the word. Developer CA Immo Deutschland GmbH interweaves its high-rise building’s public and private uses in innovative ways – while setting standards for sustainable, energy-efficient construction at the same time. And XPS insulation with JACKODUR® from JACKON by BEWI is playing a key role.

360° view included

Building inspectors completed the formal acceptance of this ambitious high-rise building project on June 30, 2022. Note that despite all the challenges imposed by the pandemic, the project was completed on schedule as originally planned. The first office tenants have started their operations in ONE, where the office rental space alone totals 45,000 square meters (480,000 square feet). Since August 19, 2022, the 4-star, superior design and lifestyle hotel “nhow” is also welcoming guests on 14 floors of ONE. Some 650 coworking spaces are also available on five floors along with numerous meeting rooms. The literal highpoint of ONE, however, is located about 185 meters (607 feet) in the air: The Skybar with its rooftop terrace and 360° panoramic view is open not only to everyone working here or staying as guests of the hotel, but also to the general public.

JACKODUR®: Robust and extremely strong

Willy A. Löw AG, the company contracted to install the sealing materials, used JACKODUR® elements for the perimeter insulation surrounding the building, including the entire delivery and pedestrian area. The high-strength, durable and efficient XPS insulation was supplied in the JACKODUR® KF 700 and JACKODUR® KF 500 formats. In addition, the water-repellent Filter Layer WA served as the base for the floor structure. These materials were installed during the period from October 2021 through May 2022. The construction professionals at Löw AG expressed consistently high satisfaction, both with the product characteristics and with JACKON by BEWI’s service, availability and logistics. Steeped in a long and rich tradition, the roofing company from Bad Homburg, Germany, is in high demand as a partner on many major projects and high-rise buildings in the Rhine-Main area. It combines more than 100 years of experience as craftsmen together with the latest methods, high-quality materials and high environmental standards. So the choice of JACKODUR® XPS insulation boards was a deliberate one – not least for their reliability even under the highest loads, as evidenced by their extremely high compressive strength of 700 kPa. Another important advantage for the ONE project: JACKODUR® is listed in the DGNB Navigator of the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB)

Three “Platinum” ratings for energy efficiency and sustainability

Sustainability and energy efficiency characterize the ONE concept – as not one but three platinum ratings attest. The ONE office and hotel high-rise was the first high-rise building in Germany and Central Europe to be awarded WiredScore’s highest category SmartScore certificate: Platinum. The office project also earned WiredScore’s Platinum certificate for best connectivity as well as the German Sustainable Building Council’s Platinum pre-certificate. That makes this skyscraper a pioneer in ESG-compliant (environmental, social and governance), sustainable and digitalized office space.
