5,000 m² reimagined: urban farming on the roof of a shopping centre
A green space covering around 5,000 m² has been created above the Les Arcades shopping centre (Noisy-le-Grand, near Paris). As part of a comprehensive refurbishment, the previously unused roof has been transformed into an urban farming project for local food production with significant environmental benefits. The structural basis for this was a green inverted roof with JACKODUR® EVO 300 XPS thermal insulation.

A clever solution: a bathroom with a round shower, washbasin and toilet in just 4.35 m²
In Le Perreux-sur-Marne (Paris region, France), a new bathroom featuring a shower, washbasin and toilet was created as part of a comprehensive home renovation, all within a space of just 4.35 m². With the room measuring 1.40 × 3.11 m, every square metre counts, meaning the bathroom design had to be planned with great precision. There was hardly any scope for classic, rectangular shower solutions here without significantly compromising on user comfort.

Long-term testing on a green inverted roof: FIW confirms a stable thermal conductivity of 0.032 W/(m·K) for JACKODUR® EVO
Inverted roofs are popular because they are robust and can be used in a variety of ways depending on the design – from a flat roof covered with gravel to a green roof with photovoltaic panels. At the same time, the insulation is located above the roofing membrane and is therefore constantly exposed to high levels of stress. Rainwater, moisture and temperature fluctuations take their toll on the material over the years.
